      This week,I have an industrial visit.I was go to the Canon Opto (Malaysia) (COM) Sdn Bhd . This was developed at Shah Alam.In this visit there are two lecturer had follow us as our guardian at this factory.They are is Encik Redzuan and Dr Muzahidul Islam.

     We go to Canon Opto (Malaysia) (COM) Sdn Bhd by bus.We was gather at Kolej Siswa Jaya(KSJ) before we go to the factory.We was take the attendance at the KSJ to ensure that all student in elecsys were go to this factory.When we arrived, all of us are bring to & enter the briefing room. The COM worker show us on slide the agenda of the day. Then she give the microphone to Mr Huzaini. I don't remember what position he has in COM but I know its not a low position. He told us a little bit about COM profile.

   First place that we go to is the Water Treatment Plant.He also share with us COM compliance with environment regulations. He said,"COM has to comply the rules, regulations and standards imposed by the Malaysian government, Canon Inc. and COM itself in its daily operation. To ensure these compliances, COM carried out regular environment monitoring such as discharged water, underground water, air and noise.


 Scheduled waste and chemical handling also been properly managed in COM as required by rules, regulations and standards.COM also committed towards the product requirement including Product Chemical Substance Assurance (RoHS) which include Green Procurement activities."

Then we arrived at the water treatment plant. Mr Huzaini told us its function, "In order to preserve the natural resources, “Water Recovery Plant” was installed to treat waste water from production and use by cooling tower in air conditioning system."Next, Mr Huzaini bring us to waste minimisation centre. He explain that all waste chemical from production come here. From Canon policy, waste product can't be taken out from the factory to ask other factory to treat it. Canon factory itself need to treat its waste product.

Next, we moved to New Recycle Waste Yard/Bin Centre. The uniqueness in this centre is it has carbonizer machine. The carbonizer machine use heating element to transform the general waste into carbonized form. This process does not emit any hazardous gaseous. This centre also is a collection centre of solid waste.

 After that,we had been told to back to the briefing room,to take a rest for while,before continue our visiting.After this,we will enter inside the factory at the assembler division.The assembler division at the level 2.At this time,we was divided by 3 groups..I in the second group,The people who will guide us at this floor is En Hamid.En Hamid told us that COM only  do the making camera when it has request from the supplier..
